1. PELTON WHEEL TURBINE TEST RIG
The ‘J.P.T.I.’unit consist of a small pelton wheel connected to rope brake dynamometer. It is high head at minimum discharge turbine. Water is given from reservoir to the turbine . A centrifugal pump is provided to supply the water to turbine. Orificemeter & pressure gauges provided to measure flow rate, water jet is directed over the bucket by a nozzle Thus, we can determine B.H.P. & I.H.P. & various efficiencies.
2. KAPLAN TURBINE TEST RIG
Kaplan turbine 150 m.m.size to develop 1 kw. at 1000 R.P.M.1500 L.P.M. at 5 to 8 m. head, complete with rope brake arrangement with spring balances. Orificemeter & pressure gauges provided to measure flow rate, for conducting experiments in Metric units.
3. FRANCIS TURBINE TEST RIG
JPTI’S Francis turbine 75 m.m. size to develop 1 Kw at 1250 R.P.M. with a flow of about 1000 L.P. M. at 10m. supply head, complete with rope brake arrangement,Orificemeter & pressure gauges provided to measure flow rate, and a set of dead weights etc. for conducting experiments in metric units.
4. CENTRIFUGAL PUMP TEST RIG 1HP
(D.C. MOTOR VARIABLE SPEED TYPE)
The ‘J.P.T.I.’ unit consist of a centrifugal pump provided with variable speed motor. The pump is provided with a vaccum gauge at suction and a pressure gauge on discharge pipe. The pump is provided with a variable speed drive & gate valve at discharge which facilitates estimation of pump performance at various speeds & discharge heads. Power input to motor is measure with energymeter.
5. RECIPROCATING PUMP TEST RIG
(D.C. Motor Variable Speed)
The ‘J.P.T. I’ consists of reciprocating pump mounted over the sump tank, the unit is self contained, recirculating type, provided with vaccum gauge at suction & pressure gauge at discharge. Input to motor & output of pump can be measured and pump performance can be estimated at different speeds by means of and at different heads.
6. GEAR PUMP TEST RIG
Gear pumps are positive displacement rotary pumps. The ‘J.P.T.I.’ unit is a self contained recirculation type unit. All the measurements are provided to evaluate the performance of the gear pump.
