PHOTOCELLS - CHARACTERISTICS & TESTING METHODS

Objectives of this experiment:
1. To demonstrate the effects of radiant energy on photocells (A photocell undergoes a large resistance change when exposure is changed from complete darkness to intense light, from several megaohms to tens of ohms).
2. To show how radiant energy can be used to control electronic circuits.
3. To use photocell as "a simple light intensity-to-frequency counter", in conjunction with a 555 timer.

Built in regulated power supply: + 15V/300mA
Input Supply: 230 VAC/50Hz mains operated.
Dimension: 27cms x 17cms x 10cms.
Weight: 500gms

LIGHT EMITTING DIODES

Objectives of this experiment:
1. To demonstrate the operation of a typical visible light-emitting diode (red, green & purple coloured), after drawing a "forward current-versus-forward voltage" characteristics curve of an LED.
2. To select the current limiting resistance of an LED, and to verify that the LED has higher reverse resistance, just like NPN junction diode when LED is reverse-biased.
3. To demonstrate the difference in LED radiation patterns of red LED.

Built in regulated power supply: +15V/150mA
Input Supply: 230 VAC/50Hz mains operated.

CONSTRUCTION OF TWILIGHT CONTROL CIRCUIT USING LDR, TIMER & RELAY

Objectives of this experiment:
1. To construct twilight control using timer, LDR and to verify that when the ambient light around the LDR cell decreases the resistance of the LDR increases and the voltage at trigger input to the 555 decreases and causes the output to go high and it activates the relay.

Built in regulated power supply: +12V/300mA
Input Supply: 230 VAC/50Hz mains operated.
Dimension: 27cms x 17cms x 10cms.
Weight: 500gms

LIE DETECTOR SENSOR TRAINER

Objectives of this experiment:
In this trainer you will observe how to study the human being skin resistance affects during stress. Here, when a person is under stress (May be lying). Their GSR (Galvanic Skin Resistance) will decrease. This will cause the tone generated by your detector to increase.

This trainer precisely demonstrates this principle and operates on 9V DC

FANTASTIC SIMULATED LASER KIT

Objectives of this experiment:
This trainer uses a 555 timer to power an ultra bright LED. The output is a pulsating red light that can be projected using lenses. An ultra bright LED capable of 300 mA output is tied to pin 3 of the 555 timer. This IC is configured as an Astable multivibrator mode. This frequency is controlled by RC values. By adjusting P1 the frequency varies. The control changes the output from a slow blinking to fast pulsating light. This operates on 9V dc.
This trainer precisely demonstrates this principle and operates on 9V DC
