Critter Pickin' Pans
(LSE) |
• Flat-bottomed white plastic pans for “easy pickin’s”
Many have asked us for flat-bottomed white pans that won’t twist or spill. Well, here they are - the best way we’ve found for hand-picking macroinverte- brates in the lab or field. Lightweight yet sturdy, in 2 sizes. First rinse your sample through a sieve (usually 500 m - see page x), then spread it in the pan. When the sample settles, the picking starts. Macroinvertebrates are usually sorted into vials and preserved in alcohol. Sometimes glycerine is added for storage. |
