| Comprising six cylinders of diameter about 16mm, with weight of each cylinder adjusted to 100g. Includes one cylinder each of copper, lead, brass, zinc, iron and aluminium. Cylinders vary in length from 5cm to 19cm to get the same mass and are drilled across cross-section near one end for suspension. Metal cylinders rest in the cylindrical recesses drilled in a wooden block. Metal identification stamped on each cylinder. Can also be used in specific gravity / density experiments to compare their relative densities. |
