The apparatus consists of a copper rod of size about 300 x 25mm (length x diameter). one end having a steam chamber connected to a steam boiler through inlet and outlet tubes, and a copper water cooled spiral at the other end. Support tubes provided at two points along the length of the bar for positioning thermometers and another two thermometer supports at the ends of the spiral copper tube. Fitted in polished wooden case, packed with felt for thermal insulation and with removable front. Supplied without thermometers. |
