SMOKE CELL (LSE)
For demonstrating Brownian motion. Designed for use with a microscope. A short cylindrical cell, closed by a cover glass, is held vertically in an opaque channel 90x90x30mm. Illumination is by an integral filament bulb & cylindrical glass lens. The cell enables Brownian motion to be observed for at least 15 minutes after charging the cell with smoke. Fitted with 4mm socket terminals for connection with 12V supply. See Enlarge

For determining maximum density of water, made of G.I. sheet cylinder 50mm diameter x 300mm height mounted on a base having two tubulators for thermometers, with a gallery of 60x150mm for placing mixture of ice & salt. The respective temperatures of water at the top & bottom of the inner cylindrical vessel are measured over a period as the water cools.
